<p>Are you a person who values health and movement and wishes to pass your passion onto young people. We'll help you become an engaging, motivating, and innovative secondary school teacher specialising in Health and Physical Education. Federation University has a long-standing reputation for producing highly skilled, passionate and resilient health and physical education teachers. With smaller class sizes, our lecturers get to know our students, providing one-on-one assistance with assignments and course work. Our Bachelor of Secondary Education (Health and Physical Education Teaching) will see you gain a deep knowledge of two specialist teaching areas combined with valuable classroom experience. You will graduate with the confidence to connect with young people and teach from year 7 through to VCE. Through this course you will specialise/major in Health and Physical Education, as well as a choice of another teaching method in either Mathematics, Science, English, History, Information Technology, Psychology, Drama, Outdoor Education or Media Studies. Features of program: • Learn through applied movement activities. • Complete highly engaging, practical school-based placements. Explore areas including: • Science of movement • Game based learning • Lifelong physical activity • Health and Human Development • Aquatic activities • Contemporary Curriculum design • Contemporary Pedagogy and assessment approaches You’ll be ready to teach by undertaking a minimum of 80 days of supervised teaching placement with our partner schools throughout the course. Teachers are in high demand, and you can teach across Australia in remote communities, thriving regional centres or in our capital cities. You are required to sit the CASPer test as part of your application. We recommend booking your CASPer test in advance, so your application is not delayed. View CASPer test date/times. We provide several pathways and options to ensure you can follow your dream of becoming a great teacher. <p class="bold-heading3">LANTITE (Education)</p> <p>The LANTITE is a computer-based test designed to assess your personal literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring you are within the top 30% of the Australian adult population. All students aspiring to become a primary or secondary teacher must pass this test.</p>
